ArrangerAs well as being a competent Performer, Alasdair is an enthusiastic Arranger of music. With a very accomplished musical ear, ten years of Classical Piano and Music Theory training and a wealth of performance experience with a variety of ensembles, Arranging proved to be the next logical addition to his musical career.
A major outlet for Alasdair's arrangement work has been with The Royal Northern College of Music Session Orchestra (of which he has also held the Bass Guitar seat from December 2012 - June 2014). A notable highlight of his work with the ensemble was the opportunity to perform his own arrangements of a number of popular disco and pop songs in the Royal Courts of Justice in London for the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Coronation Ball (attended by HRH Earl of Wessex). In November 2015, Alasdair was fortunate enough to work with the Masters level students at the Architectural Association of Interprofessional Studies in London to arrange for their project entitled "Unreal." This was an exciting chance to arrange music and record for a dramatic installation that took place in December 2015. |
Quotes"Alasdair shows an excellent understanding of music theory and a keen interest in its practical application."
